In a move said to complement its printed circuit based solutions, Molex has acquired what it says are 'certain assets' of US based Soligie, which specialises in printed and flexible electronic solutions for applications in the medical, military, industrial, lighting and consumer sectors.
"Soligie's business expands our capabilities in the high growth field of printed electronics," said Todd Hester, general manager of Molex' Printed Circuit Products business unit. "With this acquisition, we can deliver a more comprehensive set of technologies and expertise for creating higher value, innovative electronic solutions."
According to Molex, Soligie brings a range of design, process development, prototype fabrication and product development services, as well as platforms for high precision, high volume roll to roll printed electronic manufacturing.
John Heitzinger, Soligie's president, added: "The Soligie team is extremely excited about the acquisition as it blends game changing printed electronic technologies with Molex's highly skilled engineering talent and worldwide manufacturing and sales network."
