12:16DISPLAY VISIONS EA DOG Flexible Chip-on-Glass LCD Modules for Small Devices
DISPLAY VISIONS GmbH has introduced the EA DOG series of chip-on-glass (COG) LCD modules designed for compact electronic devices such as portable industrial measuring instruments. The modular concept allows designers to combine different display sizes, backlight colours and interfaces while keeping power consumption low and the overall footprint small.

DISPLAY VISIONS EA DOG series flexible chip-on-glass LCD modules
Key Characteristics
- Technology: Chip-on-Glass (COG) — LCD and driver IC integrated into a single module
- Power consumption: typically 150–900 µA at 3.3 V (depending on size)
- Display options (13 modules total):
- 7 text displays: from 1×8 to 4×20 characters
- 6 graphic displays: from 102×64 to 240×128 pixels
- Backlight options: 7 colours (including white, amber and RGB)
- Up to 23 different display + backlight combinations
- Optional touch interface on selected modules
- Interfaces: SPI or I²C (model-dependent)
- Excellent sunlight readability
- Reduced component count and higher reliability due to COG construction
The modular design lets engineers select the exact display size, illumination and interface needed for the application without increasing the base module size or power budget — ideal for battery-powered portable equipment.
Development Support
- Free DOG simulator (text/graphic preview with different backlights)
- 97804USB test board for hardware evaluation
- USBSTICK-FONT package (font editor, multi-language support including Cyrillic, Greek, Arabic; BMP conversion; C/Basic source code output)
- Arduino sketches, libraries, documentation and EAGLE files for most modules
