PwrBlock 323 Brings Programmable Power to Automated Test Fixtures

Finnish company Everypin has introduced the PwrBlock 323 — an open-hardware programmable power supply designed for integration into automated test fixtures, hardware-in-the-loop setups and laboratory applications. The device delivers a single non-isolated output of 1–32 V at up to 3 A (max ~92 W) when powered from a 100 W USB-C PD source.

Key Specifications

  • Output voltage: 1–32 V (10 mV resolution up to 24 V, 20 mV above 24 V)
  • Output current: up to 3 A (1 mA resolution)
  • Max power: ~92 W (from 100 W USB-C PD source)
  • Controller: STM32G0C1CEU (Arm Cortex-M0+)
  • Power stage: LM51772 buck-boost controller
  • Measurement: INA229 high-precision voltage & current sensing
  • Protection: OCP, OVP, OPP, OTP + TPS259830 input protection
  • Control: SCPI commands over USB (Python, VISA, custom software)
  • Interfaces: 2× USB-C, 10-pin IDC, 40-pin I/O (UART, SPI, I2C + 7 digital I/O)
  • Dimensions: 130 × 70 × 20 mm (enclosed, multiple mounting points)

The PwrBlock 323 allows full software control of voltage, current limits, output on/off and automated power cycling of the device under test (DUT). A graphical interface is also available for manual testing and debugging.

Target Applications

  • Automated production test fixtures
  • Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) systems
  • Laboratory and R&D power testing
  • Power cycling and reliability testing

The project is being developed as open hardware (CERN-OHL-W-2.0) and open software (Apache-2.0). Schematics, PCB files, firmware and documentation are planned for public release. The project is currently in crowdfunding stage.
