VIEWE has introduced the PLCM-UES31S043H800V480C-U, a 4.3-inch touchscreen development board based on Espressif's new ESP32-S31 SoC. It combines wireless connectivity, stereo audio, storage and RS485/CAN industrial interfaces on a single PCB, giving designers a ready platform for HMI panels, smart control units and connected embedded systems.

Key specifications
- ESP32-S31-WROOM-3-N16R16V module (ESP32-S31NRV16 SoC): 32-bit RISC-V core up to 320 MHz plus a low-power core
- Memory: 512 KB SRAM, 32 KB LP SRAM, 16 MB PSRAM, 16 MB flash
- Wireless: Wi-Fi 6 (2.4 GHz), Bluetooth 5.4, IEEE 802.15.4 (Zigbee, Thread)
- Display: 4.3" IPS TFT, 800×480, 400 cd/m², 16.2M colours, 24-bit RGB, ST7262E43-G4 driver
- Capacitive touchscreen with GT911 controller
- Audio: ES8389 stereo codec, two NS4150B Class-D amplifiers, two analogue microphones, speaker connectors
- USB Type-C (5 V power, programming, debugging via CH340C), USB 2.0 Type-A (OTG)
- microSD slot (SDMMC / SDIO 3.0)
- RS485 and CAN terminal block, 20-pin GPIO header (UART, I²C, power), separate 4-pin UART
- Four ADC buttons, BOOT and RESET buttons, WS2812B RGB LED, 3 kHz buzzer
- 105×67 mm, 5 V supply, −20 °C to +70 °C operating range
Software and availability
ESP-IDF examples cover the display, touch, audio playback, microSD and CAN/RS485, and the board ships with an LVGL-based factory UI. As the ESP32-S31 is still a preview platform, development requires the ESP-IDF master branch with the preview flag enabled. The board is available from VIEWE's store for $38.99, with an AliExpress listing expected soon.
